p.2 The Regatta - The aquatic gentry of Kingston have for the last week been making active preparations for the sports which are to come off this morning. A great advantage attending the present Regatta races over former ones is that the course for sailing has been chosen so as to keep the sailing yachts within view of the city during the whole of the contest. Nine yachts have been entered for the first prize of £25, viz.:- Challenge, Prima Donna, Kate Hayes, Tempest, Bloomer, Jetty Treffez, Black Swan, Jessie, and Agnes. For the Scow Race, four have been entered. The Skiff Races do not seem to have attracted much attention, judging from the entries. The sport begins at ten o'clock.
