p.2 City Council Proceedings - petition of Messrs. Brown & Harty wanting to extend their wharf; discussion on subject of Council's jurisdiction in the matter of wharves and over the harbor; thought that the matter was between parties making extensions and the Provincial Government; "Until the corporation get possession of the unceded water lots and struck a line for harbor and wharves, nothing could be done by the Council in the matter;" a select committee appointed by late Council to confer with Gov't on subject ceased to exist with the old Council; Messrs. Jackson and Davidson were re-appointed to act in the matter.
