p.2 Opening of the Welland Canal - We are credibly informed, says the Buffalo Courier, that this Canal will be opened on the first of April. Bars will be placed at Port Dalhousie and Allanburg Locks, by which vessels drawing over ten feet of water will be prevented from entering thus remedying one of the most fruitful sources of detention complained of.
