Challenge - To O. Gildersleeve, Esq. - As it has been asserted in a public placard that the steamer Bay of Quinte, is the swiftest Boat sailing on the Bay, I am instructed by the owners of the City of the Bay, to offer to run the steamer Bay of Quinte from Belleville to Kingston direct, for the sum of ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS. The race to come off within ten days, and two days notice given if accepted. Capt. McGill Chambers
