p.2 Launch - The fine steamer Canada was launched on Saturday last - or perhaps we ought to say, nearly launched - for she stuck on her way going into the water, and has to be shoved off. She was named by Miss Henderson, of Hamilton - who, by the way, won't get married this year - at least everybody says so who knows anything about "signs." C.J. Brydges, Esq., and a number of gentlemen and ladies attended the launch; after which the parties partook of a dinner, which went off with much eclat. The party returned to Hamilton the same evening, highly pleased with the appearance of the magnificent steamer, whose launch they had gone to witness. [Niagara paper]
