p.2 Three Men Drowned - The Detroit Free Press learns from Capt. McDonald, of the steamer Diamond, that the mate and two sailors belonging to the schooner Ocean were drowned by the swamping of a small boat, near Fighting Island, on Wednesday night last. The schooner had got on a bar, and four men were in the boat trying to get her off. In throwing an anchor overboard, one of its flukes caught on the gun-wale of the boat and caused it to fill and sink. One of the men in the boat was saved and the other three were drowned.
