p.2 Man Overboard - Joseph Wiggins, captain of the schooner Hebe, reports that he left Toronto at 11 o'clock, p.m. on the 6th inst., en route for Darlington, and that he had a new hand on board by the name of William Kerns, for the purpose of assisting to load and unload cordwood, and that sometime during the night, the said Kerns became missing. It is not known by anyone on board how the accident occurred, but it is conjectured that, having occasion to go on deck, and being unacquainted with the vessel, he unfortunately missed his way, fell overboard, and was drowned.
