p.2 Ship Canal at the Sault Complete - The Detroit Tribune of the 5th announces the arrival there of the Illinois, from the Sault, by which that paper learns that the canal is ready to let in water, and is therefore virtually complete. Quite a fleet of vessels had taken in cargoes, preparatory to going through to different ports on Lake Superior. It is understood that the State Commissioners will go up on the 15th inst., to examine the work as a preliminary to accepting it upon behalf of the State. If this is done navigation to all parts of Lake Superior will commence, and a new era in the history of Northern Michigan.
