p.2 The propeller J.W. Brooks blew up near Astabula on the 6th inst. Two engineers were badly scalded, one probably fatally. Two of the deckhands jumped overboard and were drowned. No passenger was injured.

Yacht Race - A race took place on Friday, at Toronto, between Mr. Hamilton's new iron yacht Rivet, built on the Clyde, and the Prima Donna, built in this city. We learn by telegraph that the match resulted in favor of the Prima Donna, but have not heard particulars..
