p.2 The Regatta, Hamilton - About 11 a.m. eight yachts took their position for the first race, and at the firing of the signal gun on board the Commodore's vessel, all sails were hoisted and the race commenced. Notwithstanding the incessant pouring of the rain, the competition was spirited and exciting. The first prize of $25 was taken by Mr. Cooper's Prima Donna. The 2nd, of $15, by the Sebastopol, and the third by a new yacht entered by Mr. Geo. Patillo, and others under the not very euphonious name of Snooks. [Hamilton Banner]
