p.2 Steamer Champion Ashore - It was reported on Saturday afternoon that the steamer Champion, plying between Toronto and Oswego, was driven ashore 9 miles below the latter place, in the gale of Friday night. No lives lost.

The Weather - snow followed by strong westerly gale; "...Steamers were detained in port throughout Friday night, and a couple of schooners got aground, and sustained some injury."
