p.3 Marine Losses - The Chicago Democrat says it is estimated that the losses by recent disasters on the lakes exceed a million of dollars.

To Be Sold by Auction - On Wednesday, November 14th, 1855, the Schooner Rigged Scow Promise, suitable for River or Canal trade, capable of carrying 65,000 feet of lumber or 70 cord of Bark. Terms of payment, one half at the time of sale, and the other half in three months on furnishing an approved note. Sale to take place foot of Clarence Street at 11 o'clock a.m.
