p.2 more on bark Superior - Chicago Democrat says it has arrived with salt from Cadiz, Spain; News says that this is wrong - she sailed on Lake Ontario all season.

-The Ontario and Bay State are the only steamers, of the American route, now running on the lake and river. These boats keep up a daily communication between Ogdensburgh and Rochester, and will continue to do so until about the 1st December.

Georgian Bay Canal - reported that Col. Masson has gone to examine the ground for the canal. [Chicago Democratic Press]
