p.2 An Ocean Steamer In Port - str. Provincial (ne Wilmington) up from ocean to work on Lake Ontario; one wheel had to be removed to pass locks.

-U.S. steamer Jefferson Davis from Philadelphia on way through canals to make survey.

-We learn that the barque Fame, with lumber, bound up, when 15 miles off Grand River, C.W., a day or two since, was struck by lightning and eight of the crew injured, most of them badly. The captain, man at the wheel and cook were unhurt.
