p.2 The Steamer Monarch - Yesterday the new steamer Monarch made her trial trip in our Bay. The speed attained by the vessel was highly satisfactory. In appearance the Monarch is light and elegant - and on nearer inspection, her strong built frame and ample accommodation show that the object of her construction - to combine increased speed with every convenience for freight and passengers - has been attained. The Monarch is owned by a Kingston company. A party of gentlemen from this city were on board, by invitation, and expressed themselves pleased with the result. [Leader 16th]
