p.2 Presentation - Mr. John Carruthers, wholesale merchant, yesterday presented to Captain David Muir, of the barque Andrew Steven, an elegant silver hunting watch with a suitable inscription, as a mark of his appreciation of Capt. Muir's seamanship in bringing safely back to port his vessel, which encountered the violent hurricane of Sunday night. Mr. Carruthers at the same time presented to the crew of the barque, a sum of Twenty dollars.

Mr. Carruthers had chartered the Andrew Steven and freighted her with 1000 bbls of whitefish for Hamilton.
