p.2 Inquest at Wolfe Island - On the morning of the 22nd of May last, the scow Challenge, heavily loaded with lumber, on coming through the "Long Reach" was run into by the schooner Frontenac which was light. Gillespie, the deceased was mate of the Challenge - and at the time of the collision was standing at the bow swinging a lamp and warning the Frontenac off - the collision however took place, and the evidence went to shew that the deceased was caught by the bob-stays of the Frontenac and jammed or thrown against the lumber - the injury he received causing death a few hours after.
