p.2 Improvements to Navigation - enlarging Welland Canal would be far more beneficial to American interests.

The Grand Trunk and the Royal Mail Line - The remarks in the News appended to an article from the Globe respecting certain alleged arrangements regarded as prejudicial to the interests of this city, we are happy to say, were unfounded. The statement of the Globe corresponded with the rumors about town for a week or two past, and there appeared reason to look upon them as correct. In a day or two we shall be in a position to let the public know the true circumstances of the case.

City Council - Report of Finance Committee - recommending that the stock held by the city in the Wolfe Island Canal be struck out of the list of assets, as these stocks are of no value.
