-iron steamer Peerless, on Lake Ontario, said to have been purchased by U.S. Goverment.

The Assizes - Hinckley vs Gildersleeve - over alleged interference with the ferriage of passengers to Wolfe Island on 12th July last, involving steamers Walter Shanley (400 passengers on board), Pierrepont and Gazelle.
