p.2 Launch - A fine barque of about 500 tons, named the Southampton, was launched from the shipyard of Messrs. Calvin & Breck, Garden Island, on Tuesday afternoon. The Southampton is owned and has been built by the Messrs. Calvin; she is adapted for any trade, either for carrying lumber or grain, or for an Atlantic voyage. She now floats on the water like a duck. After the launch had been completed Mr. Calvin entertained his friends, the spectators (about 400 persons) to refreshments, consisting of tea, coffee, temperance beverages, etc.
