p.2 "We have been informed ....loyalty of gallant owner." [Whig]

Our contemporary has been misinformed. The facts, as we learn from the owner of the St. George, are these: - Captain Gaskin, with that spirit of loyalty and patriotism for which the Whig justly gives him credit, voluntarily placed his vessels at the service of the Commander-in-Chief about three weeks ago. Captain Gaskin has received no communication from Sir Fenwick Williams, although he has received a reply from the Governor-General, declining to accept the vessels at present, in the belief that they would not be wanted.
