p.2 On Saturday morning the American steamer Ontario was at Oswego on her regular trip down the Lake. She took on a full cargo of sugar, and as she could not reach Kingston by her ordinary course, via Sacketts Harbor, until five in the afternoon, the owners of the cargo gave Capt. Estes $150 bonus to run direct from Oswego to Kingston, that the sugar might be entered before the Custom House closed. The offer was accepted, and the boat reached Kingston in time to enter the sugar under the old duty.
