-Henry Stanton, Captain of the brig Ocean, of Detroit, was killed on Saturday last, at the Welland Canal. He endeavored to throw a bag of oats on the deck of the vessel, but unfortunately lost his balance, and falling over between the vessel and the side of the lock, was literally ground to death, scarcely a whole bone being left in his body.
