p.2 Steamer Ashore - The steamer Ontario, on her downward trip on Sunday morning, ran ashore in Batteau Channel, and remained until evening, when three of Messrs. Calvin and Breck's tugs went to her assistance. She was got off with some difficulty, and afterwards proceeded on her voyage.

Death of a Local Notability - "The Hermit" lived on Brothers Island, was a fisherman.
