p.2 Caught In the Gale - The steamer Magnet, which left Toronto on Thursday afternoon at three o'clock, did not arrive in Kingston until noon yesterday, after a stormy passage of twenty hours. The wind on the lake blew a perfect hurricane, trying the strength of the steamer severely, but she weathered the storm bravely, and arrived here safe and sound. The Magnet had a good freight, but brought few passengers, owing no doubt to the threatening state of the weather when she left Toronto.
