p.2 The Ferry Wharf - The old wharf opposite the Pierrepont saloon has been completely replanked and put in order for the use of the ferry steamer Gazelle, as well as for all general purposes. The wharves this year are "looking up," and it is to be hoped that these improvements are but forerunners of a general renovation of the old wharves along the harbor, many of which have lain idle for years.

Detroit, May 21st - The propeller Nile exploded this morning while lying at the dock. Six persons are known to be killed, and others supposed to be. The boat is a complete wreck.

Police Court - sailor charged with assault on two soldiers; sailor charged with trying to get soldiers to desert and enlist in American army.

ad - Union Wood Yard, R.I. Jordan, proprietor, wants vessels to carry wood to Toronto and Hamilton, also wood boats to bring wood from Rideau Canal.

ad - John Greer & Co., (late of Toronto) in wood and coal trade, want barges to bring wood up Rideau Canal and vessels to take wood to Toronto, Hamilton and Chicago.
