Ship Owners' Convention - The ship owners of Detroit have issued a call for a convention (date not specified) to take into consideration many points of interest to ship owners, such as shortage on grain, demurrage of vessels, freights, seamen's wages, whether cargoes of lumber, salt, etc., are to be received on the rail of the vessel or otherwise, and other minor points. Canadian ship owners are invited to act with those of Detroit and other American lake ports, but though circulars have been sent to different firms in Kingston we hear of no associated action having been determined upon.
