p.2 A telegram in the Globe says: The Kingston will probably be saved in a few days. By pumping she has considerably raised her bow, which is now nearly out of the water. She lies on the south side, about 2 miles above Beauharnois. Had she not been towed into the small bay out of the raging current, all would in all probability have been lost. It seems that the captain and crew did nobly when they saw the awful danger. The rafts were in the worst part of the rapids.
