p.2 The Pewabic Disaster - The Detroit Tribune, of Wednesday, says:- "There is every indication that the authorities are determined to probe the affair of the late collision, and not only place the blame where it properly belongs, but take the proper steps to secure the punishment of the culpable parties. On Saturday, George Cleveland, mate of the Pewabic, was arrested by the Marshall on a warrant issued by the District Court, and lodged in jail. As the accused will be compelled to undergo an examination, we will not at this time dwell upon the affair at length. The penalty, in case of conviction, will be imprisonment in the State prison."
