p.2 New Light House - A new Government light-house, to be completed in about three weeks, is being built by Mr. Thomas Overend, of this city, on Point Pleasant, Marysburgh. The building stands fifty feet above water, twenty feet of it being built on the shoal, and ten feet on the mainland. It is partly intended as a protection for vessels against the shoal which runs out some distance from the shore, but chiefly to assist vessels coming in from the lake, particularly those from the direction of Oswego.
