p.2 The Late Gale - The number of vessels which ran into Oswego on Saturday owing to the gale was between 60 and 70, many of them with their sails rent or carried away, and all more or less "overhauled" in a manner not at all pleasant even in idea to a "landlubber." Captains of vessels generally say that the gale was of as wild a character as any they had experienced for many years, and yet very few serious disasters have resulted from it.
