p.2 The River Steamers - We hear that the Inland Navigation Company intend to have their steamers all ready for beginning the season's operations by the middle of April, fully a fortnight earlier than the boats have been run in past years. If the season admits, the steamers will commence running on the 14th, one of their earliest engagements being to convey Imperial troops from Lower Canada to Upper Canada, and vice versa. The Canadian volunteers doing garrison duty will likewise be relieved from duty or will exchange garrisons, and be conveyed by steamer.
