p.2 Assizes - McDonald vs Gildersleeve - Action on account. This action was brought to recover a balance of account alleged by the plaintiff, Donald McDonald, plumber, of this city, to be due to him by the defendant, Mr. Charles F. Gildersleeve, for work done to defendant's steamer Corinthian. The work consisted of copper pipes to connect with the machinery and boilers of the steamer, which the defendant says were badly brazed and had burst at the joints, being insufficient in strength and in the quantity of material as charged. The full amount of the account was $915.69, of which $418.91 was acknowledged to have been paid; and the defendant had now paid $360 into court.
