p.2 Visiting The Gunboat Heron- The gunboat Heron put on her holiday attire today, and was open to inspection by any of the citizens who might wish to avail themselves of the opportunity. A good many visitors pulled out to the vessel and went aboard, and were treated with that policte attention which can only be received from a genuine salt water Jack Tar on the deck of his favorite craft. Tuesday has been fixed for the first ball practice from this vessel, at which time the crew will be put through the cutlass and other exercises usual on such occasions.
