p.2 The New Gunboat - The negotiations entered into between the Minister of Marine and Messrs. Calvin and Breck have not yet terminated, the government agent being in doubt as to which of the two vessels, the Hercules or the John A. Macdonald, will best answer for a gunboat. Calvin and Breck are perfectly willing to sell at a fixed price, and the affairs will probably be brought to a close immediately.
