p.2 The Rideau Canal Route To Ottawa.- Mr. Kinghorn has received a letter from Ottawa bearing the information that a break in the Rideau Canal about five miles above Ottawa has prevented the steamer City of Ottawa from reaching her port. The City of Ottawa's cargo will be forwarded to their destination by barges, when she will return to Kingston. The water is reported as being exceedingly low.

The Propeller East - The Montreal Transportation Company's propeller East arrived today at noon from Chicago, having on board 12,800 bushels of corn and 500 barrels of flour, and 104 bundles of broom corn for Kingston manufactures. The East is the first propeller from Chicago, and the first vessel hence which has made the round trip.
