p.2 Storm on The Lake - The wind has been blowing heavy from the north-east for some time and there is a heavy sea running on the lake. Several vessels took refuge in the harbour at Genesee. The schooner Defiance, laden with lumber, was water-logged, but succeeded in getting into the harbour. The schooner Sarah Bond, water-logged, was deserted by her crew, and lies one mile from the east pier. No particulars as to cargo. The old Canadian schooner John Wesley, sunk after getting in and making fast to the dock. [Rochester Union]
