p.2 Gale on the Lake - Lake Ontario was visited by a heavy gale from the south-west on Saturday night, and such was the force of the wind and roughness of the sea outside the harbor, that vessels proceeding up the lake found it advisable to seek the nearest port for shelter. The steamer Magnet put back to Kingston, arriving between eleven and twelve o'clock on Saturday night, where she remained until early the following morning, when she resumed her trip, the gale having in the meantime moderated.
