p.1 A Detroit (Mich.) despatch says that the propeller Boscobel, of the New York Central line, took fire and was totally destroyed on Friday morning below St. Clair. She was run upon the Canada shore, and all her passengers, ten in number, escaped, but with the loss of their effects. The second engineer, who jumped overboard, was drowned, and it is feared a fireman also perished in a like manner.
