p.2 Board of Trade - Canal Commission - answered questions from the commissioners; "We hope the Coasting Trade will be thrown open to the respective ships of both countries, and we think it very unfair that Canadian vessels should be taxed heavily while entering American ports, while American vessels are admitted to our ports comparatively free."
