p.2 The Assizes - Chaffey vs Platt - This was an action brought by George Chaffey & Bro. vs. Wm. M. Platt, for a sum of $195, for towing 19,000 feet of timber from Trenton to Kingston at $100 per 10,000 feet, and towing bottoms from Garden Island to Kingston.

The case was made a remanet by the court in order to be tried at the next sittings of the County Court in June next. Mr. Britton for the plaintiff; Mr. O'Reilly, Q.C., for the defendants.

Chicago Elevators - new ones being built to replace those burned in great fire; capacity will be greater.
