p.2 That Race - We learn that the race from this port to the Welland Canal between the barques Mary Jane and Dundee, for $500 a side, last week, resulted in favour of the latter vessel. We have not ascertained the exact time occupied by the voyage.

Marine News

Montreal Transportation Company's wharf - The tug Glide arrived with four barges, light. Departures: Barges Portland, 10,500 bush corn; Index, 7,669 bush do.; Emma, 7,750 bush do.; Cleveland, 20,085 bush do.; Waverly, 12,400 bush do.; Dauntless, 11,600 bush do. The schooner Onward arrived yesterday from Milwaukee with 13,250 bush of wheat.

Messrs. Coulthurst and MacPhie's Wharf - The schooner Annie Falconer, from Cleveland, with 300 tons of coal for the Kingston Gas Company is discharging here.

The barque Arctic, from Cleveland, coal for the Grand Trunk Railway, is unloading alongside the track, opposite the Market Battery.

Messrs. James Swift and Co's Wharf - Passed Up - The steamer Osprey. Passed Down - The steamers Abyssinian, Corsican and Picton. The schr. Trenton, from Saginaw, with 120,000 feet of lumber is unloading.

Port Colborne, July 8th - Down - Propellers Bruno, Port Elgin, Montreal, wheat; Akron, Toledo, Ogdensburg, gen. cargo and flour; Europa, Chicago, Montreal, corn; City of Montreal, Chatham, Montreal, general cargo; Granite State, Toledo, Ogdensburg, general cargo; L. Shickluna, Chicago, Montreal, general cargo.
