Accident - We learn that while the barque Jessie Drummond was entering Lock 8, Welland Canal, on Tuesday evening at 9:30, a sailor named Henry Pierce, while checking the bow line, got his foot entangled, and it was taken off at the ankle. He was removed to the hospital, and the injured limb had to be amputated about six inches below the knee. The captain kindly denoted him $50.

Further From The Storm - The barque Alexander, laden with timber for Collinsby, Lake Ontario, was overtaken by the storm on Lake Erie, and while off Long Point sprung a leak, and lost her foremast head. She reached Port Colborne without further damage. The schooner Augustus Ford, laden with coal for Detroit, while on Lake Erie on Thursday night sprung a leak, requiring the active exertions of the pumps from that time until reaching this port, arriving here on Saturday night.
