p.1 City Council - (part) The Buoys - From W. Smith, Deputy Minister of Marine and Fisheries, that in reference to the letter of the 20th ult., respecting harbour buoys, the letter had been submitted to the consideration of the Minister of Marine, who instructed him to state that the expense of such would be placed in the estimates for next year. Referred to the committee on wharves and harbours.

The City Clock - From William Smith, Deputy Minister of Marine and Fisheries, that, referring to their letter of the 9th ult., requesting payment of the appropriation to the corporation for lighting the city clock as a beacon to mariners, that before the appropriation could be forthcoming, a detailed bill should be presented for the information of the department which he represented. Referred to the committee on fire, water and gas to report.

p.2 The Ferry Crossing - American channel frozen, ferry steamer to Wolfe Island is still breaking ice.
