p.2 The Norseman - The Rochester Democrat says: "The steamer Norseman, which has run for several seasons from Charlotte across the lake to Port Hope, is being fitted and furnished in first class style, and, weather permitting, will commence her regular trips about the 20th of March. The Norseman will be commanded this season by Captain Crawford, who was captain of the Rochester last year. Captain R.C. Carter, who has run the Norseman for several years, assumes the position of Superintendent of the line."
