p.2 Propeller Aground - The Northern Transportation Company's propeller Empire, from Chicago to Ogdensburg, with corn, struck a rock near Gananoque on her passage down yesterday afternoon. In order to save her from sinking she had to be beached. The prop. Brooklyn, of the same line, called at Garden Island this morning to take on a wrecking party and pumps to proceed to lighten the Empire.
