p.2 The Steamer Midge - This neat little boat, which has for some years ran between Gananoque and Clayton, has been sold to Capt. Gooreberry to run between Beauharnois and Lachine.

The yacht Foam arrived from Toronto yesterday on a cruise through the Thousand Islands. She will leave tomorrow for a cruise through the Thousand Islands.

Marine News

The harbour still continues quiet. There are no arrivals of grain to report, and very little business of any kind.

Coulthurst & McPhie's wharf - Schr. Nett Woodward has arrived with 75,000 West India staves, and 3,600 pipe staves.

Montreal Transportation Company's wharf - The prop. Africa loaded 150 tons iron for Windsor, and the tug Charlotte arrived with four barges.

James Swift & Co. - Strs. Corinthian and Athenian, and prop. America passed down; strs. Passport and Abyssinian and prop. Osprey passed up.

Collision - A collision occurred yesterday morning about nine miles out, between the barque Prince of Wales and the schooner Morning Star. The collision was the result of gross carelessness on the part of the barque, as the Morning Star was in the right tack. The Morning Star had to put back for repairs, having received damages to the extent of about $300; and indeed had a narrow escape from being a total loss.
