p.1 Marine News

Montreal Transportation Company's wharf - Arrived: schrs. Knight Templar, Chicago, 18,800 bush. corn; W.J. Preston, Milwaukee, 15,500 bush. wheat; T.D. Barker, Chicago, 18,500 bush. corn; Nassau, Chicago, 22,230 bush. wheat; tug H.F. Bronson, with seven barges light.

James Swift & Co.'s wharf - The steamers Corinthian, Abyssinian, and York, and props. Scotia, Georgian, and R.W. Stanley up; strs. Athenian and Spartan, and props. America and Calabria down.

As the prop. Calabria was proceeding down the river on Saturday afternoon, some of her machinery gave way near Oak Point. A tug was sent down to bring her up, but before the tug arrived, the prop. R.W. Standley came up the river and took her in tow, arriving at the dock about nine o'clock on Saturday evening. The repairs were made on the Calabria, and she went on her trip about three o'clock on Sunday morning.

Up: Schrs. Miami Belle, Malta, Thomas Simmons, Wm. Hunter, prop. Young America, schrs. C. Jeffrey, E. Blake, Albacore, prop. St. Albans, barque S. Thurston, Mary Battle, schr. Jamaica.

p.2 Accident - The steamer Abyssinian, while leaving the harbour on her trip up, ran against a buoy moored off Carruther's wharf. The buoy was carried away, and one of the wheels of the steamer was somewhat damaged.
