The harbor was very quiet this morning, but the wind being favourable, a great rush was expected. Indeed at ten o'clock this morning there were no less than ten vessels in sight coming down the lake.

Montreal Transportation Company's wharf - The schr. Ada Medora arrived from Chicago with 17,660 bush. corn.

James Swift & Co.'s wharf - The steamers Corinthian and Athenian passed up; and Abyssinian and Spartan down. The prop. R.W. Standly coaled here yesterday.

Port Colborne, Aug. 27th - Down: Schrs. J.H. Foster, Chicago, Kingston, wheat; D.S. Austin, do., do.; W. Sanderson, Chicago, Kingston, corn; Turner & Kellar, do., wheat; Onward, do., do.; Alexander, Bay City, do., timber; L.S. Hammond, Milwaukee, Kingston, wheat; A.S. Makeag (sic - Amoskeag ?), Chicago, do., corn; Mediator, do., do.; Craftsman, Bay City, do., staves; B.F. Wade, Chicago, do., wheat; Skylark, do., do.; G. Mollison, do., do.; prop. Lawrence, Chicago, Ogdensburg, gen. cargo.

Up: Prop. Canada, schrs. H. Rooney, Morning Light, Cossack, M. Battle, prop. Bruno, schrs. Surprise, D.G. Fort, Princess Alexandria, steam-barge Belle P. Cross, schrs. Anglo-Saxon, St. Andrews, J. Ralston, Monticello, D.D. Porter, Emerald, prop. Scotia, schr. Albacore.

August 28th - Str. Spartan, Rochester, Rees Bros., 2 bbls. fruit.
