There is a probability of a good deal of activity in the grain trade this week, one forwarder having advices of 20 vessels, and another 15 vessels.

Jones & Miller's wharf - schr. Sam Cook, Chicago, 21,700 bush. wheat.

Coulthurst & McPhie's wharf - schr. Agnes, Toronto, 6,130 bush. wheat; Olivia, Toronto, 7,545 bush. wheat; Dauntless, Toronto, 10,790 bush. wheat; Hercules, Port Dalhousie, 14,000 bush. wheat.

James Swift & Co.'s wharf - The steamers Corsican, Spartan and St. Lawrence passed up, and the Osprey and Magnet down. The steam-barge Nile leaves for Rideau Canal with gen. cargo, and the tug S.S. Edsall coaled.

Holcomb & Stewart's wharf - The schrs. Garrett Smith, Chicago, 15,264 bush. wheat; Hoboken, Chicago, 18,000 bush. wheat; Mary Copley, 17,300 bush. wheat; L.S. Hammond, Chicago, 17,000 bush. wheat; Garibaldi of Hamilton, Port Stanley, 12,400 bush. wheat; Bell McPhie, Chatham, 7,000 bush. wheat. Cleared per tug Wren - Lark, 19,000 bush. wheat; Linnet, 17,000 bush. wheat; Snipe, 12,000 bush. wheat; Hawk, 12,000 bush. wheat. Per tug Annie, 14,000 bush. wheat.

Good Wages - The shovellers at Messrs. Holcomb & Stewart's elevator on three days of last week made an average wage of $27 per man.
